It was a warm, sunny day in the middle of summer and a bee was happily buzzing around the garden collecting pollen from the flowers.
As he was making his way to the big red flower by the potting shed he saw something shimmering in the sun. As he got closer he saw that it was a delicate spider’s web hanging between the shed and the fence.
He knew webs were dangerous but he was intrigued by its beauty and thought it wouldn’t do any harm to move just a little bit closer to get a better look. Just a little closer … just a little closer …
And then it happened – in the blink of an eye, he was stuck. He tried to move but couldn’t. He was trapped in the web.
Now he was scared. He struggled and struggled but to no avail – it was too late. The more he struggled the tighter the web became; there was no way out. The ending had begun.
The Ballad of the Bee is a song about inevitability. You’re tempted and before you know it you’re trapped. You struggle valiantly but in vain; you can only delay the inevitable outcome. The song features fuzzy guitars, pounding drums, and punk vocals - a direct injection of punk music.

LYRICS
If there’s a start, there’ll be an end
You can’t deny, you can’t pretend
The shadows fall, the light grows dim
There’s no way out, no way to win
The music stops
The curtain drops
As the ending starts to begin
There’s no debate
There’s no escape
There’s just no way that we can win
Seductive web, a deadly trap
Once were in there’s no way back
We all know when we begin
It all must end, that time will win
There is no rhyme, no reason why
Ours is just to do and die
The music stops
The curtain drops
As the ending starts to begin
There’s no debate
There’s no escape
There’s just no way that we can win
Seductive web, a deadly trap
Once were in there’s no way back
Enticing, appealing
The moment is fleeting
Beguiling, misleading
The spider needs feeding
A sudden chill
A bitter pill
As the ending starts to begin
Struggle in vain
Nothing will change
There’s just no way that we can win
Your fate’s been sealed, be in no doubt
Once were in there’s no way out
The music stops
The curtain drops
As the ending starts to begin
There’s no debate
There’s no escape
There’s just no way that we can win
Seductive web, a deadly trap
Once were in there’s no way back
Check out our good friend Lily's EP for when you're not sure what you want to listen to, coz it has a habit of hitting the spot in unexpected and strange ways. The Kelly Line
Ducking Punches make some of the best new punk music coming out of the UK right now. Their older stuff is a bit more the vibe we try to play (VIVA LA ACOUSTIC GUITAR), but Alamort is just so good. The Kelly Line
Michelle Zauner is one of the most consitently creative people out there. She used to play in indie-rock band Little Big League, but now makes insanely eclectic music under Japanese Breakfast. The Kelly Line
