Easy Come 03:30
LYRICS The future’s never been Twenty twenty but it seems That as I age I’m losing focus Losing sight of all my dreams All my dreams Left to rust It Feels like times betrayed my trust I feel the sands of time are calling Castles crumble into dust It’s becoming increasingly obvious That I don’t know What I don’t know Easy come And easy go I won’t miss what I never knew I had So I figure it makes sense Just to sit here on the fence It’s just a little too little and a little too late for me I know I should persist But I don’t wanna take the risk In trying too hard to remember All the chances I have missed That I’ve missed Thrown away How I long for yesterday Before the past became tomorrow And tomorrow was today It’s becoming increasingly obvious That I don’t know What I don’t know Easy come And easy go I won’t miss what I never knew I had So I figure it makes sense Just to sit here on the fence It’s just a little too little and a little too late for me And so we wait to see How the cards are fallin Who the Gods are callin The Hell that hath no fury But no one ever warned me It’s just a little too little and a little too late for me I don’t know What I don’t know Easy come And easy go I won’t miss what I never knew I had So I figure it makes sense Just to sit here on the fence It’s just a little too little and a little too late for me I don’t know What I don’t know Easy come And easy go I won’t miss what I never knew I had So I figure it makes sense Just to sit here on the fence It’s just a little too little and a little too late for me

LYRICS You’re thinking no way I’ll resist You’re not the only girl I’ve kissed And I think that you will find That I’m really not that kind Forbidden fruits wait to be tasted All those nights I’ve ever wasted I’m doing all the wrong things For all the wrong reasons I’ve got no firm allegiance But just in case I’m gonna get My retaliation in first You’ll get no apology This is how it’s gonna be Cos I can read between the lines I can see the tell-tale signs Forbidden fruits wait to be tasted All those nights I’ve ever wasted I’m doing all the wrong things For all the wrong reasons I’ve got no firm allegiance But just in case I’m gonna get My retaliation in first INSTRUMENTAL I’m doing all the wrong things For all the wrong reasons I’ve got no firm allegiance But just in case I’m gonna get My retaliation in first I don’t know, but I am sure Seen enough, don’t need no more All of the things I think you’ve done, I can’t ignore A risk that I’m prepared to take I’m not the kind to hesitate Before I’m hurt much more I must retaliate

Mona Lisa 03:24
LYRICS Less than a fact but more than a guess Her lips saying no but her eyes saying yes The penultimate act in the last pantomime I’ve lived my nine lives now I’m just killing time Not quite a yes, but more than a no Her eyes saying stay, but her lips saying go I have to plead guilty of thought, word and deed The memories congeal as the truth starts to bleed guilty by association Inappropriate elation Unconventional flirtation Ultimate emancipation Risking excommunication Incremental degradation And in a crowded works canteen the moment largely goes unseen the bishop quietly takes the queen the cat has finally got his cream and in a no-names asked motel some people buy, some people sell some people kiss, some people tell the witches cast their evil spell And who was Mona Lisa smiling at Who could she see, what did she know Did she smile first, did they smile back What did they say, where did they go? INSTRUMENTAL The flames are still rising, the mist now descends The angels are leaving, my demon returns Some will be lost, but some shall be saved Would you throw the first stone, would you hammer the nails? And in an all-night coffee bar the lights are dim, the door ajar behind the smoke from your cigar lest we remember who we are And in a backstreet cheap saloon two strangers nod good afternoon the moment’s over all too soon an aborted honeymoon and in a black and white cartoon silhouetted by the moon the piper plays his lonely tune

LYRICS Another bloody crossroads And more than four directions I can take Another turning point Another choice that I must make I’m not old but I am getting older every single day I’m not brave but I am bold now in so many different ways And I am flawed, but I’ll keep moving on, I know I’ll be ok Looking forward to tomorrow glancing back at yesterday The grass may well be greener Might be futile but I’ve got to chase the gold I’ll write my own script Not the lines that I’ve been sold And I’ll weave into my story All the things I want to do Not the well-worn paths I know too well I’ll venture somewhere new I’m not old but I am getting older every single day I’m not brave but I am bold now in so many different ways And I am flawed, but I’ll keep moving on, I know I’ll be ok Looking forward to tomorrow glancing back at yesterday INSTRUMENTAL And I know That I could stay Another night Another day Do my time Nine to five Make my pay But I'm not waiting for a Friday I am living for today I'm not following the followers I'm making my own way I’m not there but I am getting closer every step I take And I might not but now I know that it’s a chance I’ve got to take And I’m not perfect but I’m trying and I know I’ll make mistakes It’s a choice I have to live with it’s a chance I’ve got to take I’m not old but I am getting older every single day I’m not brave but I am bold now in so many different ways And I am flawed, but I’ll keep moving on, I know I’ll be ok Looking forward to tomorrow glancing back at yesterday I don't have to But I want to And I need to So I will

about

"Some of the Parts" is very much a moment in time for The Kelly Line. Not only are the four songs a mainstay of our setlist, they are also representative of our current full band live sound.

Indeed, three of the four songs were written with our regular live line up - Ben on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Connor on lead guitar, Jack on Bass, and Iestyn on drums and backing vocals - in mind.

Easy Come, All The Wrong Things, and Another Bloody Crossroads were all written within a few weeks either side of all four of us graduating from the same University on the same day.

We hope you enjoy.
